Peru's President Ollanta Humala stressed Tuesday that the country's increased presence in Asian markets will sustain its economic growth and generate greater wealth.
The head of State made this remark while announcing his upcoming Asian trip to Thailand and Indonesia to attend the summit of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

The Peruvian leader is set to arrive in Thailand on Oct. 5 for a two-day official visit with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and bolster cooperation. Then, the President will be heading off Indonesia to be part of the APEC forum.

Furthermore, President Humala noted that the Pacific Alliance, made up of Peru, Chile, Mexico and Colombia, has become an area for promotion and strengthening of local productive forces.

Indeed, he pointed out that the regional trade bloc is creating legitimate major expectations in the world's leading markets such as United States, South Korea, Japan, Canada, among others.

"(The Pacific Alliance) is an important area and we will do our best to include ourselves in the world's largest trade blocs," said the head of State.

The APEC summit will be held in the Indonesian resort island of Bali from October 7-8.
