Over 400 foreign gourmets tasted delicious Peruvian Pachamanca and flagship Pisco beverage in Chinese Yantai province on Sunday, within the framework of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2016.

Pachamanca is a traditional dish based on the underground baking of lamb, chicken, and pork among other meats and agricultural products.

Both tasting sessions took place at Tianma Center during the closing ceremony for the international gourmets meeting held in the Asian giant.

Visitors participated in the tasting session. Huancayo region-born chef Nathaly Torres prepared traditional Pachamanca with Chinese ingredients.

Torres previously worked at the Peruvian Embassy in Honduras and developed a Pachamanca fusion styled-dish named "Ticucos Pachamanqueros."

Pisco Sour was also accompanied by Honduran beverage Timoshenko.

Both recipes for Pachamanca and "Piscoshenko" (fusion of two beverages) are included in the "La Mesa Nuestra, cocina fusion: Copa y los Andes” book, one of the two Peruvian titles nominated for the award.

This copy includes 54 Peruvian-Honduran fusion cuisine recipes.

The event was sponsored by Peru's Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola and Global Center for Diplomatic Gastronomy.
