Peru's Industrial Development Plan (PNDI) will give special focus on fostering the industrial development of the country's highlands and jungle regions, said Luis Salazar, head of the National Society of Industries.
He stated that the upcoming PNDI's implementation will have a major positive impact on bridge the country's infrastructure gap, thus narrowing the distance between inner markets and local industries.

"The development of the industry, in particular in the highlands and jungle areas, will lead to create new communication routs, not only in what highways and terminals concern, but also in telecommunications," Salazar noted.

For his part, the president of Ayacucho's Chamber of Commerce, Federico Vargas, considered the industrial booming initiative will be the starting point of a real industrialization process in the central Andean region.

He pointed to the industry sector in Ayacucho comprises only 0.03% of its GDP due to the region does not have the needed infrastructure to develop it, therefore the government's measure will help to foster industrial growth in this area.

Likewise, Nelson Torres, head of Ucayali's Chamber of Industry and Commerce, stressed the PNDI involve a real participation of all the entrepreneurs working in the northeastern region for the development of a value-added industry.

In this regard, he noted that the funds from this outstanding initiative should be allocated to produce manufactured goods in the Peruvian forestry regions.
