Peru's main stock-market indexes ended lower Thursday as a broad decrease in metal prices dragged down the mining-heavy market.
The Lima Stock Exchange's broad General Index closed 1.23% weaker at 22,772.60. The blue-chip Selective Index ended 0.95% lower at 31,927.97.
Precious-metals mining company Compania de Minas Buenaventura SAA fell 3.27% to end at $38.80, as gold prices declined.
Base metals producer Southern Copper Corp. closed 1.9% lower at $30.90, as the price of copper decreased 2% on the London Metal Exchange.
Copper mining company Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SAA declined 0.99% to finish at $40.10, according to a report from Dow Jones Newswires.
