Peru's investment opportunities attracts Qatar's firms

A group of representatives of Qatar’s public and private sector visits Peru on Monday interested in knowing about the country’s investment opportunities; Peru's investment promotion agency (ProInversion) reported Monday.
The Qatari delegation was headed by Qatar Holding’s officers, the operative unit of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), which is the public institution dedicated exclusively to identify investment opportunities abroad.

At the gathering with the Qataris businessmen, ProInversion executive director, Javier Illescas, outlined the benefits granted by Peru aimed at attracting investments. In addition,  he shown the projects’ portfolio entrusted to the institution.

The Qatari delegation showed a strong interest in Peru’s projects related to mining, energy and oil.

Among the members of the delegation are representatives of the country's leader firms such as Qatar Mining Company, Qatar Petroleum Company and Qatari Diar Real State Investment Company. 

All of them were also interested in projects related to tourism and hotel industry, infrastructure projects and agriculture.
