Peruvian driver Alexis Hernandez placed third in the second stage of Dakar Series’ Desafío Guaraní and is looking to take a spot on the medal stand of this competition held in Paraguayan lands.
Using his Yamaha Raptor 700R, Hernandez finished the 247,10 kilometers of the stage ‘Asunción – Ciudad del Este’ in 2:25.5, time that had him finish third in Quads 4×2.

“This stage was fun; without a doubt Desafío Guaraní is a great challenge for everyone and I am absolutely delighted to finish this competition with a good result,” he pointed out after crossing the finish line.

“Let’s just calm down and take it easy, with two more days of competition remaining, we need to make some necessary repairs on our quad. Paraguay has amazing roads that have become such a challenging experience for competitors,” he added.

On this second stage, Uruguayan driver Sergio Lafuente got his second victory stretching the gap in the 4×2 Quad Overall.

Lafuente had a 25 minute lead over Nelson Sanabria, who lost some ground but still keeps his second position over Peruvian driver Alexis Hernández.

The Peruvian competitor was the third fastest on this stage over Nelson Sanabria in the fight for the second position in the Overall.

Alexis Hernandez was the first Peruvian competitor to enter in Rally Dakar 2015 as well as the first one to participate in Desafío Guaraní running from July 19th to 24th.
