4.3 million people had formal jobs as at 2015; they accounted for 26.9% of the employed economically active population, CCL Institute of Economics and Business Development Director Cesar Peñaranda reported.
According to the National Household Survey (ENAHO), formal workforce is connected to services (57.4%), trade (17.8%), manufacturing (12.9%) and construction (5.6%) sectors.
Positions were created in energy (33.4%); agriculture, livestock and fisheries (25.0%); construction (14.7%) and trade (11.9%) sectors over the three previous year.
Employment saw a 2.2% increase in the case of non-primary manufacturing subsector, he added.
