The economic measures adopted by the government, aimed at putting more money in employees' pockets through an income tax reduction, will be perceived by the early beginning of 2015, confirmed Finance minister, Alonso Segura.

Employees’ enterprise-made deductions will be lower starting the first month of 2015. This will be translated to a larger money disposition for members of the working population.

From January  2015, lower taxes will start to be perceived as savings compared to tax payment, he declared to Cuarto Poder TV program.

This measure has been designed to benefit those who earn the least, he noted.

In this sphere, the minister specified an employee with a S/. 4,000 (US$ 1,369) salary per month pays S/. 3,209 (US$ 1,098) a year on a regular fifth category income tax basis.

However, the new government measures will allow the referred employee to pay S/.1,846 (US$ 632), which will lead to an annual saving of S/. 1,354 (US$ 463); an average savings worth S/. 112 (US$ 38) per month.

Segura emphasized that allowing people to spend more is the greatest economic impact measure.
