15:44 Peru's February exports rose 8.3% to US$3.6bln
 
Lima, Apr. 28 (ANDINA). Exports from Peru were valued at US$3.66 billion in February 2012, an increase of 8.3 percent compared to the same month last year, government tax agency Sunat said Saturday.

Sunat reported that Peru's traditional exports rose 8.3 percent year-on-year to 2.82 billion U.S. dollars, while the non-traditional ones grew 8.3 percent US$806 million in the month.

In the traditional sector, agricultural exports grew 74 percent to US$47 million; those of fishing products jumped 67 percent to US$208 million; petroleum and natural gas exports were up 5.7 percent to US$345 million; and minerals exports rose 4.5 percent to US$2.22 billion.

Among non-traditional exports stood out those from the non-metallic mining (up 44.7 percent), fisheries (31.6 percent) and textil industries (9.3 percent).

In the first two months of the year, the total value of exports amounted to 7.54 billion U.S. dollars, up 18.8 percent from the same period in 2011.
