Peruvian striker Jefferson Farfan hit Russian headlines after rescuing three motor vehicle accident victims.

The FC Lokomotiv Moscow sportsman noticed the crash while returning to the Federation's capital after beating host Arsenal Tula (3-0) at the Russian Premier League.

"The first thing we did was to get out of our car and help people. We were surprised that there was a pregnant woman inside one of the [crashed] cars, as well as a boy who was screaming desperately," he told the press.

The Peruvian athlete reminded the reporters that he was not expecting to find any survivors among the travelers occupying the other vehicle.

However, the 32-year-old player was determined to make a last effort.

"After rescuing the mother and child, we went to the other car —which was completely destroyed— and found a young man who was drunk, but it was impossible to get him out of there," the star stated.

"I don't know how we made it, but we broke the door and took the guy out," he added.
