The Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) supported the participation of 300 exporting enterprises in international events, which led to 5,000 business meetings and transactions worth US$366 million, Minister Magali Silva said.

The government official highlighted Peruvian participation in two US-based top fairs, such as Seafood Expo North America that allowed 15 fishery enterprises to concretize deals worth US$49 million, through 652 business meetings.

Natural Products Expo West allowed 26 companies to reach transactions valued at US$39 million.

She also stressed the successful presence of 10 Peruvian enterprises at FOODEX Japan, one of Asia's most important food fairs, where national products sacha inchi oil, maca flour, amaranth, organic quinoa and chia in grains and noodles, among others were promoted.

At the event, meetings led to US$12 million in deals projection for the following 12 months.

At United Arab Emirated-based Gulfood, Peru engaged in US$15 million business-commitments for a one-year period.
On that occasion, 10 Peruvian enterprises reached immediate deals worth US$620,000.

Peru offered products such as quinoa, maca, cocoa, beans, legumes, dried fruits and canned foods, among others.

Results were possible thanks to the participation of Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) and Trade Offices based in overseas (OCEXs).
