FocusEconomic's LatinFocus Consensus Forecast analysts reaffirmed Peru's regional economic leadership for 2017, topping neighboring LatAm nations with a 4.2% growth estimate.
Peruvian expansion will be followed by that of Bolivia (3.8%), Paraguay (3%), Argentina (3%), Colombia (2.4%), Chile (2.1%), Mexico (1.8%), Uruguay (1%) and Brazil (0.6%).
On the other hand, Ecuador and Venezuela are expected to drop -0.3% and -4.1%, respectively.
Peruvian economy is projected to hold its upward trend in 2017, driven by external demand and rebounding fixed investments.
Panelists also revised upwards their 2018 growth forecast for Peru, up from 4.1% (December 2016) to 4.2%.
