Peru's Cuna Mas Program received quality management ISO 9001:2008 certification for relying on a design, which guarantees good learning and cognitive development of minors.

Implemented by the Social Development and Inclusion Ministry, the program aims at supporting children (aged up to 3) in areas of poverty and extreme poverty.

"This certification guarantees Cuna Mas relies on effective procedures and high quality standards for the elaboration of learning experiences, which have direct impact on children's cognitive development [...]," Cuna Mas Executive-Director Jorge Fernandez said. 

In this regard, the social program seeks to consolidate as an efficient institution, which ensures quality of its two services.

"We are undertaking efforts to certify other procedures [...]," he added.

It must be noted 134,000 children and families are assisted by Cuna Mas Programs through its two services: Day care Service and Accompaniment Service for Families.

The assistance has increased by 139.6% from its creation in March 2012 to May 2016.
