Peru's cabinet to seek Parliament confidence vote on Aug. 20

Peru's ministerial cabinet led by the newly-appointed Prime Minister Ana Jara is expected to seek Congress' vote of confidence on August 20, the parliamentary chief Ana Maria Solorzano said Thursday.

Jara is a former head of the Labour Ministry and served as former minister of state in charge of Women and Vulnerable population affairs.

The presentation of the Lima-based new Cabinet is set to be held at the plenary session of the Congress at 9:00 hours. Ana Jara sworn in on July 22 as Prime Minister, Humala's sixth taking office in July 2011.

Ana Jara sworn in on July 22 as head of the Council of Ministers and in accordance with law, within 30 days assumed her duties she must appear before Congress to explain the actions of her administration.
