Peru's BAP Union carries out training activities in France

08:51 | Le Havre (France), Aug. 19.

Peruvian Navy training ship BAP Union moored at Le Havre port (France) on August 14 as part of an overseas instruction trip in European waters.

During the stopover, the ship's crew carried out a series of activities including a visit to Le Havre Port authorities.

The crew also paid a visit to the Peruvian Embassy in France, where they were welcomed by the charge d’affaires ad interim.

On August 17, BAP Union hosted a luncheon for local French figures followed by a successful reception for 200 guests.

Conceived both for training purposes and as a sailing ambassador, the vessel also hosted two Peruvian wine and pisco tastings featuring local experts.

In addition, the ship served as a showcase for a wide range of Peruvian export products from coastal, highland and rainforest regions.

During its 5-day stay in French waters, the training ship welcomed over 6,000 visitors, who were lured both, by the dimensions and majesty of the tall ship.

BAP Union's stop in Le Havre is proof that the Inca country holds its bilateral ties with France in very high regard.

The ship has also sailed in British and German waters.
