Bilateral trade between Peru and China is expected to amount to US$17.2 billion, a 10% increase compared to 2013, ex-president of the Peruvian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (Capechi) Eduardo McBride reported Monday.
"China will continue to be Peru's main trade partner since bilateral trade between these two countries is expected to increase by 10% to US$17.2 million this year", McBride told El Peruano official gazette.

McBride noted that commodity exports to the Asian giant will recover this year.

Furthermore, he projected that Peruvian non-traditional exports will grow by 20% to US$380 million in 2014.

Trade between Peru and China has surged 20% over the last four years in part because of the two countries' bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which took effect in March 2010.

Two-way trade between Peru and the Asian country touched US$15.7 billion in 2013.
