09:57 | Da Nang (Viet Nam), Nov. 9.

Presidents Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (Peru) and Tran Dai Quang (Viet Nam) met within the framework of the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Da Nang City, where they agreed to improve and strengthen bilateral relations.

The gathering took place at Ariyana Danang Exhibition & Convention Center in Viet Nam.

During the meeting, President Kuczynski referred to the appointment of Augusto Morelli Salgado as new Peruvian Ambassador to Viet Nam.

On the other hand, his Vietnamese counterpart announced his intention to open an embassy in the South American country.

Mr. Kuczynski took this opportunity to offer condolences from the Government and people of Peru for the victims of the typhoon that has struck Viet Nam over the past days.

Likewise, he affirmed this year's APEC Summit —under the lead of Tran Dai Quang— will surely yield good results for its member countries.

As for economic and trade ties, he noted Viet Nam's presence in Peru through mobile phone and telecommunications' investment projects.
