Within the framework of Alpaca Moda 2016 fashion fair, international brands Versace and Prada will participate in business rounds to be held in Peru's southern city of Arequipa.
Set to take place on October 24-28 at Cerro Juli Convention Center, the event aims to promote national alpaca sector's further adhesion into international markets.
Likewise, world's top brands such as Ermenegildo Zegna, Balenciaga and Anthropologie will be present on the occasion.
The fair will see the participation of 80 alpaca-fiber producing companies from Puno, Cusco, Junin, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Lima and Arequipa regions, projected Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).
They will take part in business rounds with the objective of showing their products to worldwide renowned clothing brands.
The event represents an opportunity for Peruvian enterprises to show their top exportable supply to international buyers, who will also join the alpaca garment exhibition.
According to PromPeru's Southern Macro Region Office Manager Ignacio Rivera, business rounds might exceed US$20 million in deals, well above the figure reached on the first edition (US$18 million).
Rounds will host 62 international companies from 17 countries interested in acquiring alpaca fiber.
Rivera also projected the ceremony will gather over 5,000 people, among international and national visitors engaged in the alpaca fashion sector.
