Julio Emilio Velarde Flores was today sworn in as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Peru's Central Reserve Bank (BCR) for the third consecutive time since 2006.
In a brief ceremony, held at Justice Palace's Ambassadors Room, corresponding Supreme Resolution was read by the President of the Judiciary Branch Victor Ticona Postigo.
Congress-issued legislative resolution 006-2016-2017-CR ratified his appointment as BCR's top authority.
Afterwards, the BCR Governor and the Judiciary Head signed the Supreme Court's Book of Record.
Ticona congratulated Velarde over the reappointment, as well as ratification and wished him success in the post.
Said ceremony was also attended by Judiciary members and BCR officials, among other guests.
The Central Reserve Bank of Peru is a legal entity governed by public law, with autonomy within such framework. Its purpose is to preserve monetary stability.
