In December 2015, Peru registered a trade surplus of US$210 million thanks to exports valued at US$3.170 billion and imports worth US$2.960 billion, Peru’s Central Bank (BCR) reported on Friday.

Over the said period, such shipments were comprised of traditional (US$2.094 billion) and non-traditional (US$1.068 billion) products.

This latter sector was boosted by the greater exports of farming goods such as fresh grapes, asparagus and mangoes, among others.

Likewise, imports were composed of inputs (US$1.238 billion), followed by capital goods (US$1.034 billion) and consumer goods (US$681 million).

2015 Balance

Thanks to the progress, sales to overseas amounted to US$34.157 billion in 2015.

Higher exports of non-traditional farming and non-metallic mineral products stood out in the analyzed period.
