Peru has taken a significant step to achieve sustainable development after having successfully concluded the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement negotiations, the Peruvian government affirmed.

This agreement will offer several growth and productive diversification opportunities to the country.

"Thanks to the Trans-Pacific Partnership [TPP], new opportunities for growth and productive diversification will be provided to our economy [...]," Peruvian President Ollanta Humala affirmed on Monday.

This alliance is composed of Peru, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam. The said nations reached a free trade agreement in Atlanta on Monday.

The Head of State highlighted that TPP includes an exclusive group of countries that accounts for over 40% of the global economy and a market composed of more than 800 million consumers.

"Thus, Peru joins one of the most ambitious initiatives at the global level, which is aimed at accelerating trade," he stated.
