Tourism sector experienced a 6.7% growth as at April 2016, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva affirmed.
"If this pace remains until the end of the year, the rate will see a 43% expansion in 2016 compared to 2011, which will lead to an average annual rate of 7.5% [...]," she stressed.
"I believe Peru relies on resources required to become a tourism power," the minister added.
Progress is mainly reflected in the generation of new jobs. Nearly 300,000 job positions were created in the said sector over the last five-year period.
