Between 2011 and 2016, Peru's receptive tourism growth led to increasing air seat capacity by 1.5 million.

Thus, the figure rose from 4,254,660 to 5,704,329, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva affirmed.

Over the said five-year period, the number of international routes increased from 35 to 44; weekly flight frequencies climbed from 502 to 661.

Such figures were possible thanks to sustained growth of tourist arrivals on the national territory.

U.S, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, Panama, among others countries offer the largest air capacity.
