Peru to take part in LatAm Leaders Forum in New York

Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) will participate in the First Bloomberg Latin American Forum – Hosting the Pacific Alliance, to be held in New York, United States, on the occasion of the 69th United Nations General Assembly.

The forum will see the participation of the Pacific Alliance leaders and will discuss strengths and opportunities of the said regional integration initiative, as well as the main challenges facing the international market. The latter topic will be addressed by Peru.

Leaders of the Pacific Alliance, whose member states are Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, will discuss the outlook for their countries at a panel discussion taking place at Bloomberg headquarters in New York on September 22 at 15:00 local time.

Attending the event will be Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Magali Silva, who will be accompanying Peruvian President Ollanta Humala as part of the official delegation.

Mincetur’s head will also hold meetings with senior representatives of the largest business network in the investment, finance and capital markets industry in the United States, with the aim to promote investment opportunities in the Pacific Alliance and Peru. 

The said network includes big international names like Citigroup, BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, Blackstone Group, and food importers such as Sysco, Atalanta and Goya. The gatherings are scheduled for September 23 and 24.
