Peru’s export and tourism promotion board (Promperu) and a group of Peruvian entrepreneurs will attend the 42nd ABAV – International Tourism Expo, to be held from September 24 to 28 at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavillion in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

According to a resolution published by Promperu, a bunch of Peruvian companies will take part as co-exhibitors in order to promote and train the Brazilian trade chain, encourage new businesses to promote Peru as a travel destination, and identify opportunities to develop promotional activities in the Brazilian market.

As it was pointed out, Peru’s participation will be used as a promotional tool, which allows participants to engage in an exchange of information about their strategies and marketing growth expectations with tourism professionals attending the event.

This international platform also provides a space for attendees to gather information on trends, interests and perceptions of the marketing chain.

The ABAV Expo is the largest travel trade fair in the Americas and the Southern Hemisphere, and it is promoted by the most representative entity of the Brazilian tourism market: the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies (ABAV), which concentrates over 80% of the country’s sales force, including both national and international destinations.

By gathering the best agencies to promote the best businesses, the event has become an international benchmark, allowing representatives of more than 60 countries to interact with the Brazilian market, recognized as the world’s seventh-largest economy.

The 2014 event will have 3,500 exhibitors, representing 65 countries, and 40,000 professional visitors from all industry segments. It will, therefore, contribute in a decisive manner to the consolidation of businesses among companies of the five continents, benefiting the whole global production chain of the sector.
