The Minister of Development and Social Inclusion Paola Bustamante will travel to Quito, Ecuador, to participate at the international seminar titled: “Investing in Children in Latin America and the Caribbean,” organized by the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF).
Bustamante will attend a space for dialogue gathering nations’ officials, who will have to inform about the progress made, as well as the challenges faced on the contributions to public spending for the benefit of Latin American and the Caribbean children.
Thus, the emphasis on the matter will be focused on the clarity and impact of investments carried out for the said purpose.
In this sense, the Peruvian Government approved the official trip (May 24-25).
While in Quito, the Minister will also participate in the meeting to present the conclusions and progress made by nations on the goals set on last year’s “Investing in Children: A Commitment to Equity at 25 years of the Convention of Rights of the Children (CRC)” seminar.
UNICEF highlighted the advancements the country has achieved on the matter, as well as the role the Development and Social Inclusion Ministry (Midis), has played in the implementation of strategies aimed at early childhood development.
