FIFA Executive Football Summit will take place in Peru this March, Peruvian Soccer Federation's (FPF) Head Edwin Oviedo announced Friday.

"It will be held in our country this year 2018. We are proud to become the host of this summit," Oviedo said at a press conference.

The event will see the participation of top officials belonging to soccer governing body, which is led by President Gianni Infantino.

The Summit

According to FIFA, the Executive Football Summits were introduced in 2016 as one of the key initiatives of its reforms to offer a platform for exchange and encourage greater participation of FIFA's 211 member associations.

Each summit brings together presidents and secretary generals of around 20 member associations with the purpose of discussing strategic matters for the future of the game.

The current series kicked off on November 21 in Baku (Azerbaijan) and will run thru March 2018, with the last meeting taking place in Lima (Peru).
