APEC Education Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) will take place in Lima on 5-6 October.
Proceedings will be chaired by Peru’s Minister of Education Jaime Saavedra Chanduvi.
Market competition and advances in technology are changing the knowledge and skills needed to ensure productive, prosperous work forces and sustainable growth across the Asia-Pacific bloc.
Demographic shifts, including aging populations and the implications for labor capacity, are adding to concerns and providing further impetus for education reform in the region.
Within such framework, Ministers from APEC economies will take new steps to improve access to quality education and career training.
Mobility, delivery and recognition of skills and qualifications will be among the areas of focus. Parallel emphasis will be on promoting science and technology learning to drive innovation, as well as boosting long-term employability and productivity in the work place.
The event will be held at Lima Convention Center
