Peru expects to "close" the year 2015 with agricultural product exports worth over US$ 6.00 billion, Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Juan Benites announced.
The amount would represent a growth of 17% compared to the same period last year, he estimated.
This increase is due to the quality of the national products such as: asparagus and quinoa.
"We are the largest asparagus and quinoa exporter, the second [largest] organic banana exporter, third-ranked avocado exporter and fifth in grapes, at a global level,” he pointed out while addressing Andina news agency.
“We also hold the second position in organic coffee [exports] and seventh in specialty coffee exports," indicated the head of the portfolio.
