10:59 Peru to attend UN meeting on economic, social and cultural rights
 
Lima, Apr. 29 (ANDINA). Peru’s Minister of Labor, Jose Villena, will deliver a speech to a committee of the United Nations (UN) on the measures taken by the Peruvian government to implement economic, social and cultural rights in the country, in particular the right to work.
To that end, Villena will travel from April 30 to May 5 to Geneva, Switzerland to take part in the 48th session of Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of the United Nations.

The member countries of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), like Peru has to submit periodically reports on measures taken to implement these rights.

During the trip of Jose Villena, Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Jose Silva Martinot will be responsible for the Ministry of Labor.
