Peru’s Transport and Communications Ministry has awarded LTE-compatible spectrum in the 700MHz band to Entel Peru, America Movil and Telefonica del Peru, the country's Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) announced.
Each of the three corporations was awarded a spectrum block for 20 years, renewable.
Entel Peru S.A. (Entel brand) was granted Block A with a bid of US$290.20 million, narrowly above the base price of US$284.70 million.
Block B was won by America Movil Peru S.A.C. (Claro brand) with a bid of US$306.00 million.
Block C was taken by Telefonica del Peru S.A.A. (Movistar brand) with US$315.00 million.
Under the terms, grantees must provide LTE services to over 190 population centers.
