The head of Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Magali Silva, and her Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Soria signed a program of joint actions to promote tourism in both countries over the next years.

The agreement is aimed at facilitating exchange of experiences gained through projects and programs that support the development and promotion of tourist destinations and products.

Silva indicates the program is derived from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation that both nations inked in Madrid on 18 January 2012.

“The program is expected to contribute to the economic and tourism potential of both countries,” she commented.

The government officials got together at a high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the International Tourism Trade Fair (Fitur).

She continued: “This valuable tool will allow us to share working methods and, therefore, stimulate tourism through the implementation of new specialized and differentiated tourism products, in which the travel experience is indeed explored.”
