Peru grabbed three medals at the Russian Sharygin Geometry Olympiad held in Dubna on July 30-August 2 this year.

The national delegation was composed of three scholars: Daniel Benavides (gold), Diego Lazaro (bronze) and Luis Chahua (bronze).

During the event, students had to solve mathematical problems of high complexity.

In this context, minors gave a remarkable performance at said competition by ousting several representatives from all over the world.

It must be noted Benavides previously won bronze medal at the 58th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2017) held in Rio de Janeiro on July 12-23 this year.

About the Olympiad

The geometry Olympiad was created in 2005 in honor of Russian mathematician Igor Fedorovich Sharygin.

The event is promoted by various research organizations and educational institutions from Russia.
