U.S. actor and two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn affirmed citizens, above all youngsters, must lead their governments.

Thus, he made a call to this segment of the population to engage in action and break paradigms with the aim of getting involved with the planet.

Penn raised great expectations at Lima’s National Museum facilities, where he participated in the "Young Entrepreneurs as Drivers of Sustainable Growth" seminar held in the framework of WBG/IMF Meetings currently underway in Lima, Peru. He was joined by World Bank Group (WBG) President Jim Yong Kim among other speakers.

The 55-year-old highlighted the technological access youngsters rely on nowadays to express and channel their ideas. Similarly, he underlined the youth’s potential to become visionaries.

The social activist, who supports humanitarian causes around the world, urged youngsters to take action in the future of mankind.

Likewise, he highlighted the relevance of counting on an environment-friendly economy and the need for entrepreneurship to take climate change into account.

The American actor said working in Haiti was a moment of great discovery, as it resulted in a wide network of countries willing to assist a population that is almost unable to move forward.

He noted Haiti hosts many stories on young entrepreneurs, who are hungry for knowledge and for making their dreams come true.  In this sense, he considered opportunities the best help that can be provided to the nation.

Penn is the founder of J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which builds sustainable programs for the benefit of low-income people in Haiti.

Photographers and camerapersons were paying attention to his participation.

WBG Chairman stressed the great humanitarian work undertaken by the famous actor.
