The Peruvian State-run National Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (Concytec) recognized 65 winners of the 4th National and International Mobilization in Science and Technology Call.

During the meeting, Concytec chairwoman Gisella Orjeda congratulated the awardees, chosen from a range of 486 applicants.

Starting September, the winners will travel abroad, in order to participate in scientific and technological events which will be held in more than 20 countries.

Thus, they were encouraged to establish relationships with other researchers and to become interested in subjects related to research-centers and institutions based in countries such as: France, Germany, England, Japan, Mexico, USA, Korea, Spain, Chile, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Portugal, China, Belgium, Israel, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Ecuador and Australia.

It should be noted 43% of winners are residents of Arequipa, La Libertad, Tacna, Huanuco and Cusco regions, whereas 54% reside in Lima and the remaining 3% in overseas (Germany and USA).

The young scientists will focus on several topics, such as biodiversity, advanced biotechnology, agro-exports, food agroindustry and fundamental research.

These National and International Mobilization in Science and Technology Calls are aimed at facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences abroad through technological internship programs and presentations at international events.
