16:51 | Washington D.C., May. 28.
With a revamped team, Peru will measure its strength with El Salvador tonight in a friendly match ahead of the Copa America Centennial, which starts on June 3.
Coach Ricardo Gareca and the new young team —led by Depredator Paolo Guerrero— will try to get another victory after they thrashed Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 on Monday in Lima in previous preparatory match.
“This match will help us know each other more. We need to understand the strategy the profe (short for teacher, referring to Gareca) wants us to apply,” said Guerrero, the only survivor among major players, and active top scorer of such continental tournaments.
Tonight’ game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.
