Said bill is aimed at rebuilding disaster-stricken areas following "Coastal El Niño" disasters.
In this sense, the cabinet member congratulated Congress for having passed this legislation on Tuesday. As is known, 90 lawmakers backed the initiative, and 18 opposed it. No abstentions were recorded.
The aforementioned law sets out the creation of an agency in charge of carrying out the reconstruction process. Likewise, the bill will implement a 3-year comprehensive plan.
Furthermore, the agency's future executive director will hold a cabinet-member rank. Thus, he will attend Council of Minister sessions to address the actions taken.
In addition, the rule ensures the Comptroller General Office's subsequent auditing of works to be executed.
