Peru ready to host 2014 Youth Beach Games

Huanchaco, northern Peru's water park located in the city of Trujillo, is ready to welcome 652 athletes from nine countries, who will participate in the 2014 Youth Bolivarian Beach Games.

The event will begin on December 3, 2014. It will last 14 days.

Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and hosting nation, Peru will be represented by their top sportspersons.

They will seek victory in the following disciplines: Open Water, handball, waterski, beach soccer, rowing, rugby, surf, under water activities, beach tennis, triathlon, sailing and beach volleyball. 

In 2012, Peru finished at the top totaling 21 gold medals, followed by Venezuela with 19.

The competition aims at getting the region’s best athletes together to boost their level of competition by assuming new challenges.
