Peru's soccer team will be playing New Zealand in a play-off after they shared a 1-1 draw with Colombia during their final FIFA World Cup qualifier in capital city Lima.

Peru and Colombia sides clashed on Tuesday, October 10, seeking to secure a spot in Russia 2018

Los Cafetaleros qualified for the World Cup while the Incas will go to an intercontinental playoff against New Zealand.

During the match, Paolo Guerrero scored a free kick with 14 minutes left to play, equalizing the game.

Peruvian striker's equalizer came after James Rodriguez put Colombia into the lead in the 55th minute.

This way Peruvians end up in fifth place (26 points) after having seen 7 triumphs, 5 draws and 6 defeats.

With this result, Gareca's squad remains one step away from returning to a World Cup since its participation in Spain '82.
