Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva highlighted the relevance of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement consolidation by stressing it allowed Peru to reach five new Free Trade Agreements.
According to the head of the portfolio, Peru "will win much more" starting with gaining access to new markets.
Thanks to TPP, the Inca nation has established FTAs with: New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Brunei Darussalam.
Among other benefits, capitalizing the designation of origin, boosting investment agreements, expanding services exports and building relations with the world's top economies are considered.
Likewise, Silva assured Peru has obtained more advantageous tariff conditions to engage in trade activities with Japan and Canada. This will contribute to increasing the number of markets for Peruvian products.
The Executive Power will have to ratify the agreement and be sent to Congress' Foreign Relations and Constitution Committees for review purposes.
