Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday afternoon welcomed Venezuelan National Assembly President Julio Borges at Lima's Government Palace.

As is known, Borges recently affirmed the right to vote has been "kidnapped" in the Bolivarian nation, which currently suffers "the world's greatest humanitarian tragedy."

In this sense, the Peruvian Head of State once again called on fellow American nations to support Venezuela.

"We believe it is fundamental that American countries support Venezuela and the welfare of its people, providing humanitarian, psychological and democratic assistance [...]," Mr. Kuczynski pointed out.

The meeting was also attended by the hosting nation's Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna.

Previously, Borges met with Peruvian Congress Chairwoman Luz Salgado.
