Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski said his Government's objective is to provide clean water to the entire population in Lima and throughout the country, thus avoiding the usage of barrels for its collection.
Remarks were made as he monitored potable water and sewage systems works aimed at 33,000 inhabitants residing in Ate district of Lima.
The Head of State underlined the fact that everyone should have
access to water and sanitation services.
He addressed the population to explain the government's support is reflected in the amount allocated to
Sedapal —Peru's State-owned water utility— in the budget.
Moreover, the top official stressed the need to access title deeds, as well as electricity and gas services.
The aforementioned works entail an investment of S/95 million (about US$29 million) and include the installation of new potable water and sewage pipes.
The 78-year-old statesman also extended special greetings, in advance, to all Peruvian fathers for Father's Day.
He was joined by Housing, Construction and Sanitation Minister Edmer Trujillo and Sepadal's head Rudecindo Vega.
