President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski thanked the Government of Mexico for its humanitarian mission deployed in Peru.

As is known, the Andean country is currently at the mercy of heavy rains, landslides and floods.

Transported by a Boeing 727 aircraft, Mexican Federal Police agents arrived in Lima on Tuesday to assist natural disaster victims in northern territory, the worst hit area.

The Mexican mission is composed of 31 rescue workers, nurses and a medical surgeon.

Agents were also joined by Mexico's National Coordination of Civil Protection personnel and one official attached to the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) team.

The arriving staff brought a load of tools, medicines, food supplies, as well as power generators, off-road vehicles and satellite communication equipment.
