Lima, Mar. 20.
Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Monday affirmed rain-related landslide and flooding emergencies affecting several regions, while difficult, are already being managed.

"I would like to express my appreciation to the Armed Forces, National Police and fire brigades for all the work they are doing," he said during a recognition ceremony at National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) headquarters.

"We know it is a difficult situation, but we are controlling it, and we are hopeful that it will soon pass," he added.

The Head of State also thanked relief provided, such as food supplies, water and utensils for victims, as well as the support of the United States, Chile, Colombia, among other countries.

On the other hand, the statesman urged the population to ignore "trolls and agitators" spreading false rumors of shortages, since this is not the case.

"We do have problems, we've been having problems with drinking water, but this is improving rapidly. Do not give in to panic," he stressed.

"The situation here is difficult, but we are dealing with it," Mr. Kuczynski insisted joined by his ministerial team.
