Peru President reviews progress on Jauja Airport

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Monday welcomed Ivan Torres, Mayor of Jauja (Junin region), to assess progress made by his city in terms of connectivity and education modernization.

As part of the meeting, the Mayor reported on advances in Jauja's Francisco Carle Airport works, including the runway and passenger terminal. The project is due in the first week of July. 

The regional authority also referred to studies to build alternative roads to the Central Highway in order to improve connectivity between the capital city and central Peru. 

In addition, the government officials addressed the beginning of construction works along Ricardo Palma Avenue, the city's main access route.
 
Regarding education, the Head of State and the Mayor discussed the modernization and refurbishment of Jauja educational centers.
 
Lastly, Mayor Torres took the opportunity to invite Mr. Kuczynski to visit the Andean city. 

It must be noted Jauja is located 263 km east of Lima.
