President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's popularity reached 62% in September, up by 2 percentage points from the previous month, the latest GfK poll revealed.
In the urban-rural sphere, 62% of Peruvians approve of President Kuczynski’s performance. Merely 17% expressed dissatisfaction, up by 3 percentage points from August, but down by 12 percentage points from the time he took office (July 28).
21% of surveyed people did not provide a response.
Areas
Among geographical areas supporting the Head of State, the South leads the ranking (70%), followed by Lima (65%), Center (60%), North (57%) and the East (56%).
Mr. Kuczynski enjoys great support from the upper-class, A and B segments (81%), followed by the middle-class C (66%) and low-income sectors D and E (56%).
Trip
Concerning his recent foreign trip to China —aimed to draw investments into Peru—75% of surveyed people seemed to be in favor of it, compared to 16% who think otherwise.
Ministers
Regarding State Ministers' popularity, Prime Minister Fernando Zavala leads preference with 46%, followed by Economy Minister Alfredo Thorne and Interior Minister Carlos Basombrio (both with 42%).
