The positive results achieved by Peru in the Programme for International Students Assessment (PISA) 2015 are encouraging, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski stated on Tuesday.

PISA is a triennial study by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) that tests 15-year-olds’ performance in reading, mathematics and science worldwide.

Published by OECD in Paris today, the study revealed the Inca nation has moved from last place in the global educational rankings.

“The figures are encouraging. We are improving little by little; we have even surpassed Brazil in mathematics,” the Head of State affirmed.

Peru made the most significant progress among the 9 participating Latin American nations.

In a message posted on Twitter, the high-ranking official congratulated Peruvian students for their better academic performance.

“PISA assessment results showed we have improved in science, reading and mathematics. Congratulations guys, you are our pride,” he said.
