Peru’s President Ollanta Humala participated in the opening of the improvement and construction works on the Huamachuco-Sacsacocha-Puente Pallar road, located in the Huamachuco district (Peru's Northern La Libertad).
The road is part of the Huamacucho-Puente Pallar-Juanjui stretch. It has a length of 28.32 km.
The corresponding investment is worth S/.100,870,666 (about US$33,623,555).
It aims at benefitting at least 71,000 inhabitants.
“The works carried out on the road will improve the connectivity, accessibility and reduce the travel time from one 1 hour and 30 minutes to 50 minutes,” the Press Secretariat of the Government Palace affirmed.
The ceremony was held at the Main Square of the Shiracmaca hamlet. It is located in the Huamachuco district, Sanchez Carrion Province (La Libertad).
The Head of State was accompanied by Minister of Transport and Communications, Jose Gallardo Ku; and La Libertad’s governor, Cesar Acuña.
