Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Monday held a meeting with Huancabamba Mayor Marco Velasco to address damages caused by "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon.
The Andean country is currently at the mercy of heavy rains, landslides and floods that have destroyed infrastructure and crops, as well as left many citizens homeless.
At the meeting, both authorities addressed challenges posed by the upcoming reconstruction process aimed to benefit citizens.
Likewise, they discussed about the state of affairs in this northern Peruvian province and rehabilitation works to be carried out.
Previously, the Head of State visited local "Virgen de las Mercedes" school.
The educational center hosts 100 initial and 427 primary students.
