Peruvian President Ollanta Humala participated on Sunday in the inauguration ceremony of the "Gamarra" Comprehensive Assistance Children Center (CIAI) located in Lima's La Victoria district.

The said project aims to provide comprehensive assistance to children aged between 06-36 months, and thus contribute to reducing gaps in cognitive, social, physical and emotional development.

This proposal emerged from a demand submitted by Gamarra Commerce Emporium childcare service unit.

Gamarra is Lima’s largest textile outlet, where thousands of people flock every day to buy clothing items for their family at affordable prices.

The center relies on appropriate infrastructure equipped with suitable furniture to provide proper services.

On the other hand, the Head of State also attended the inauguration event of the concluded expansion and improvement works on "Inca Garcilaso de la Vega" sports complex.

The projects will benefit thousands of residents. They entailed a total investment worth S/.5,991,654.82 (about US$1,783,230).

The President was joined by Peru's Ministers of Social Inclusion Minister Paola Bustamante; Housing, Construction and Sanitation Francisco Dumler Cuya; Labor and Employment Promotion Daniel Maurate; as well as the Finance and Economy Alonso Segura.
